Easter hike!

Trip Leader: Emily

Time: TBC with those coming. We may leave Thurs night, otherwise Fri morning

Experience required: Intermediate - you need to have been hiking before for this trip and have some fitness (and lots of determination!)

Destination: TBC! Probably somewhere in the high country - Current idea is starting at Hotham/Brandy Creek Mine, down to the river, up pailing spur to Youngs Hut, explore the high plains for a day or two, down to brandy creek mine and then either up to feathertop or over to hotham to finish. 

More trip details: 

This trip will be at least a 3 night hike, probably somewhere in the high country - Alpine NP. Given its 3 nights out, this probably isn't the trip for you if its your first overnight hike ever. Expect to be walking ~15ks / day carrying a pack with everything you need and camping in remote areads.

Approx cost: ~$50-80 (Fuel + gear hire (max $25 if hired from club for weekend) + food

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the right gear. Trip leaders can answer questions you might have. If you don't have the right gear you may get left at uni and leaders might be unwilling to take you in the future.

Additional notes due to current COVID19 Restrictions

• You must be up to date with Covid Vaccinations in order to attend in-person club events

• All participants must wash hands/equipment before and after use
• Anyone with any COVID-19 symptoms (e.g. excessive coughing, sore throat) or are at higher risk (ie. have returned from overseas within the last 14 days or have close contact with a confirmed case) can not join the trip. Should anyone show any of the symptoms while in attendance, the trip will be cancelled immediately with an incident form filed to La Trobe Sport 
• If you are unable to attend, you must immediately notify the trip organiser so your spot can be offered to someone else
