More trip details: (what do you plan to do, what should people expect? link to route etc)

There is an environmental flow on the Thomson River around the ANZAC day weekend. Provided that the release occurs, this means that we can do an overnight paddle down the Thomson River, along one of the more remote rivers in Victoria. There are several grade 2 and 3 rapids along the stretch, and the overnight on the riverbank is rough bush camping on a sandbar, so please be aware of that if you want to sign up.

We will be camping along the river so you need to have camping gear (sleeping bag, mat, tent etc) and know how to waterproof your gear so everything stays dry

If you want to go on this trip you will need to be able to swim at least 50m in strong currents, and have previous whitewater experience. We plan to take a mix of rafts and kayaks, with more experienced paddlers being in the kayaks, and less experienced in the rafts.

Approx cost: ~$140 (Fuel + gear hire (max $15 if hired from club for weekend) + food

Gear The questions below will help the trip organiser work out who may need to hire gear. Gear hire may be available in accordance with current club guidelines https://www.lumc.org.au/gear-store/
