Route here: https://www.trailhiking.com.au/hikes/dandenong-ranges-circuit/ (some diversions may be needed if Mechanics Track is still closed)

This route is 16km long and has a few hills, so a modest level of fitness is required.

Gear list here http://www.lumc.org.au/activities/bushwalking/

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the right gear. Trip leaders can answer questions you might have. If you don't have the right gear you may get left at uni and leaders might be unwilling to take you in the future. Good hiking boots or trail runners are recommended, because the tracks can be muddy if there's been recent rain. Dress with layers appropriate for the forecast on the day, bearing in mind that the Dandenongs are a few degrees colder than Melbourne, but you'll work up a sweat walking up hills.
