Event information

This event is full.

Trip Leaders: Joel Dowell, Emma Pollard, Charlotte Russell-Maynard

Time: Saturday, 16th March. 8:30am Carp park 6 (near the sports gym). If you're late, we'll leave without you!

Experience required: Beginner

Destination: Britannia Creek Caves (near Launching Place). The caves are really easy, no abseiling in. We did a trip in November with lots of first-time cavers and everyone had lots of fun! There are a few tight little squeeze and a small creek usually runs through the caves, so you will get wet & dirty, but that's not a problem if you have the right attitude! Weather for the week is looking good, so that shouldn't be any problem at all.

Approx cost: (TOTAL, Fuel, $10 gear hire (if you need). If you are hiring, please come to the Kayaking session on Tuesday 12th to pick it up.

Maximum group size: 7 (+ Joel, Emma & Charlotte)

What to bring: Clothes you're happy to get filthy (& possibly scuffed or torn)!!! Long sleeves (overalls are great), runners/boots (closed-toed, I wear Keen Newports), garbage bag (to store filthy stuff), Helmet & Headtorch (available for hire from club). You'll also want a towel and a change of clothes to change into for afterwards.

Other Important Info: If you want to come, you need to either contact me or come to the kayaking session on Tuesday to hire any gear. This is the only time I'll be opening the gear store, so if you need gear you must come then. I'll be the final person to decide who comes & who goes as I don't think it's fair if there's a waiting list and then people don't show up.

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the right gear. Trip leaders can answer questions you might have. If you don't have the right gear you may get left at uni and leaders might be unwilling to take you in the future.

Numbers will be limited to 7 (so we can take 2 cars & we want to keep the group small to minimise impact on the cave).
